Holiday Fashions: Tempting Trousers
Halloween is barely a memory, but already I'm thinking about Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve. I love the holidays, but the many get-togethers with family and friends put a strain on my wardrobe, which consists largely of work clothes and yard work grubs. What will I wear for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and the parties in-between? For me, there’s only one answer: separates. In the next few weeks I’ll buy a few things to mix and match with items already in my closet. If you’re also thinking separates for the holidays, you might want to check out the Connected Apparel Wide Leg Jersey Pants (was $50, now $35) above. I love sheer skirts, but these are the first trousers with sheer styling I've seen. I think these trousers are an absolutely lovely—ultra feminine and comfortable—choice for the woman over 50. Add a velvet or silk top, some sparkly jewels and a feminine shoe and voilĂ —you’ll be ready to be caught under the mistletoe.
Need something warmer? The weatherman is forecasting lots of snow for the Northeast in December. Velvet trousers like these Jones New York Velvet Pant, ($99) are cozy warm and festive for the holiday season.
Or how about these Anne Klein Velvet Pants With Satin Belt, Ships 11/11 (Black) ($119) with a silk tunic or long cashmere sweater?
