Heel Appeal: Dressy Footwear
When I dress up, whether in a dress, a skirt or nice slacks, I like to wear heels. I'm 5'4" and I definitely appreciate the heel boost. There is, however, a limit to how high I'll go. For me, I won't step into heels higher than 2 3/4 inches. Anything higher is just plain scary. Some days, though, I get very frustrated by the limited selection of heels under 3" in the stores and online. It feels like all the best styles have heels in the 3"-5" range. With the holidays coming, I'm looking for a pair of party heels. I'm thinking I'll end up with something merry and bright like the Nina Women's Brynn Pump ($89) above. I think an indigo heel would go great with my black lace skirt. But I'm happy to report I'm seeing a lot of great mid-heels (2" to 2 3/4") this month, like the Nine West Izabela, Ships 8/16-10/11 pointed toe pump (Purple) ($79) below. That shoe actually comes in 8 great shades. Below are a handful of mid-heel pumps with or without peep toes that I could easily see myself in. While I'm leaning towards shoes with color, I think a black satin shoe or even an animal print style are very festive footwear. I'm also loving the pair with a black and white check. See if you agree.
