Floral Dresses: Segue Into Fall Season
For me, getting dressed, especially for work, is a bit challenging in September. I want to switch to fall clothes, but the weather is often too warm for anything more than light fabrics. I know I can wear summer whites after Labor Day, but I’m tired of them. I'm ready for a wardrobe change. One possible solution: a fall floral dress. These dresses, which have floral prints in darker hues than the usual bright summer floral prints, are popping up around the Internet. I love the idea of wearing a sleeveless fall floral dress, like the AK Anne Klein Floral Print Belted Dress ($129) above, under a blazer for work. It’s a nice change from a suit or solid dress for women over 50. And I can take the blazer off on warmer fall days. Scroll down for other examples of fall floral dresses.
Or, perhaps, you’ve already got a summer floral dress in darker hues that you can wear this fall?
I snapped this photo of an over 50 girlfriend in her lovely garden last week. She told me she’ll wear this black and white floral dress with a jean jacket for casual outings on fall weekends. Very stylish!
Are you invited to a fall wedding? These next two dresses would be perfect with a blazer for a wedding.
Jones New York Rosette Side Drape Chemise Dress ($134)
Connected Apparel Plus Floral Tiered Sheer Dress (was $70, now $49) in Sizes 14W-24W only.
MID-FALL TO WINTER FLORAL DRESSES
A 3/4 sleeve fall floral dress, like this Jones New York Matte Jersey Godet Dress ($134), will take you from cooler fall into winter 2011-12.
Here are a few other fall florals with longer sleeves that caught my eye...
MINKPINK Carnaby Floral Maxi Dress ($115)
Ronni Nicole® Floral Twist Front Surplice Dress (was $60, now $42)
Madison Marcus Allure Floral Dress ($365). Click on the photo to see the print up close.
